Women of Afghanistan

In Afghanistan women are eager to be an important part of the society. They are brave, courageous and determined. Every day they risk their life for themselves, their career, their aspiration, but especially for all the women that can have access to education and culture, and for future generation.

In 2016 was born a women’s Tv: Zan TV Dari. All its presenters and producers are female, as Kathira Ahmadi, just 20 years old:

“I am so happy this TV station has been created for women because there are women in our society who are not aware of their rights,” she said. “This station represents women, and we work to raise the voice of women so they can defend their rights.”

Bost is a restaurant in Kabul, opened by Humaira Kohzad and mostly run by young women. Clients are women and family.

“I wanted to have a place where I could feel safe, where I could enjoy my time sitting in a corner, reading, writing, or even listening to music without getting disturbed or being stared at” The younger generation of working women has claimed Bost as their own more than any other group in the city. “They need a place where they will not be judged,”

Bost employs women who live in Kabul’s women’s shelters. Kohzad prepare them for a future, other jobs, their own restaurant, the possibility to become independent.
